Beta Beta Beta Monument Renovation Project

Northwestern State University’s Delta Theta Chapter of Beta Beta Beta Biology Honors Society has recently launched a new project aimed at enhancing the Beta Beta Beta monument that currently sits in front of Bienvenu Hall. The monument, which was initially placed in front of Williamson Hall, was created by NSU students in 1964. It is a triangular block of cement that was originally covered with a fiberglass resin top in which decorative B’s were imbedded at each vertex.

The 2008-2009 Beta Beta Beta club members would like to see this monument enhanced to better match the updated landscape and façade of Bienvenu Hall as well as the other buildings on campus. Since we are also interested in preserving the past, we would like to renovate the existing monument. The enhancement project plan is to resurface the current monument with stainless steel sides and a black granite top on which stainless steel lettering will be affixed. We believe that these improvements will serve to blend the old with the new - protecting and remembering the past, while celebrating the future.
