Research Interests
My research focuses on the cellular defense mechanisms against oxidative DNA damage. Primarily, I am interested in understanding the transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation of base excision DNA repair genes in E. coli and humans. Secondly, I am interested in studying the interactions between oxidative lesions and DNA polymerases, especially the error-prone Y-family polymerases.
